The Abominable Act

Once upon a time in a particular town, there was a young man who was having an affair with a woman old enough to be His mother. He was not ashamed of himself even though it was taboo as at then. Their relationship wasn’t known to the people around them. They committed different kinds of immoralities within themselves. One day, the woman got pregnant, she tried to abort the child but the doctor told her how her life was in danger if she tried to abort the pregnancy. The doctor added that the baby is hiding in a place that is not advisable for the woman to abort the baby except she is ready to lose her life.

The woman was confused and not happy about the situation she found herself in. She wasn’t ready to be a mother, she likes to enjoy her life. She had no choice but to keep the pregnancy, she told the young man about the pregnancy and they both kept it a secret. She gave birth to a bouncing baby boy even though people around her never knew the father of the child. She nurtured the child for a year and went ahead to drop the child at the young man’s place (his father).

She moved on and continue to live her reckless lifestyle, she continues to sleep with different kind of men, she never bothers or cares about how this young baby boy will grow up. The young man decided to carry the baby boy to his own mother. The baby boy grew up without knowing his biological mother. The boy moves to his father’s house when he became a teenager. The father told the boy a little story about his mother and her photograph.

One day, the biological mother of the boy came around when his father wasn’t at home. She told the boy that she was his biological mother. The young boy refuses to believe her, within him he could see that she looks older than his father. The boy decided to confront her telling her that it is impossible for the woman to be His mother because she looks older than his father and that she never stayed to take care of him. The mother explained to the boy that she is older than his father but his father loves her that way because she was very special.

The young boy asked her “what made her special that convinced his father to sleep with her?” The young boy told her that he wants to experience it, for him to be convinced. The woman decided to have sexual immorality with her own biological child to convince the boy. What an abominable act. No one knew what has transpired between the child and the mother. She wasn’t ashamed and she never felt any guilt for the bad thing she has done. She went away, promising to come back. After some period of time, the child was covered with leprosy.

The people were surprised about leprosy that spread over the child’s body. Different questions were asked in order to know what caused leprosy. When the pain and shame became unbearable to the young boy because it was a sign of reproach, he confessed. The people were surprised and irritated. What an abominable act. The father was very ashamed of himself and the son. They’ve brought reproach to the entire family and the community as a whole.

The woman was arrested and disgraced by being stripped naked. She felt ashamed. Every one of them was taken to the paramount ruler who was the king. And a terrible judgment was pronounced on them because they have defiled the land and the land needs to be cleansed. The King gave an order that the woman should be burnt alive, the father and the young boy should be banished from the land into the evil forest.

The guards were about to take them away from the palace when a message came to the king that someone has come and he is ready to die for their sins and for the cleansing of the land. Everyone was surprised and were eager to know that generous person. To the surprise of the people, it was the only son of the king. The king’s son said “He is sacrificing his life for them to turn away from their evil ways and live a life worth emulating.

All the people burst into tears, those who were into some secretive evil act repented on the spot. The young father, mother, and the young boy vowed never to involve in such an abominable act.

The king’s son represents JESUS CHRIST who gave His life as a living sacrifice for the remission of our sin. Your lifestyle may not be worse than that of the story or it may be more terrible. He has come to die for you in order for you to have a new life. He has paid it all with His precious blood, His blood has redeemed you from all your sin. You have been forgiven. If only you can give Him a chance in your life.

All you need to do is to come before Him, talk to Him by confessing your sin unto Him. Invite Jesus into your life to be the Lord and King of your heart. Declare with your mouth and believe in your heart that He is the son of the living God who came to the earth to die for your sin and resurrected on the third day.

If you can do these things, then you are SAVED.
