Two days ago, I decided to study the book of Matthew Chapter 2 from verse 1 to the end. The Bible passage entails the circumstances that surround Jesus Birth.
While studying, I realized that everyone was born with a star and every star has a Herod seeking to destroy the star. In the book of Matthew when Herod heard that a king was born, he sought after him to destroy him. That is how the enemies of your star and destiny are seeking to destroy you.
However, apart from Herod ( Your Enemy) who is seeking to destroy your unique star, you can also destroy your star.
This brings me to the main topic of today which is “STAR KILLERS”.
I would love to summarize Star Killers in three (3) nuggets which are:
HEROD (YOUR ENEMY)
YOURSELF
AND SIN.
HEROD: Herod is like an enemy seeking to destroy you, by all means, they are the number one enemy of your star and they are wasters of destiny.
One thing I learned about star killers while studying the book of Matthew is that star killers will always want to know your foundation and root to destroy you completely. Matthew 2:4 shows how Herod tried to investigate where Christ should be born, he did this for him to know where to find baby Jesus to carry out his evil plan in destroying him completely but thank God his evil plan didn’t come to fulfillment.
My Prayer for you is that all the plans of the Herod in your life will not come to pass In Jesus’ name.
All you need to do is to move close to God, study the word of God, be prayerful and watchful.
2. YOURSELF: You are the second greatest enemy of your star.
If you are lazy, you cannot shine. Just imagine having so many ideas and plans that will make you successful when you execute them but you refuse to execute them due to laziness. Laziness is self-defeating and progress hindering, it is a complete Star killer which destroys one’s destiny.
Failure to acquire knowledge can also hinder one’s star from shining.
The knowledge you have and what you know to determine how you will shine. You can only shine at the level of your knowledge that is why it’s very important to know things that will make you successful.
Lack of knowledge of things and the word of God can destroy you.
Hosea 4:6 says: My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
The knowledge you have and your application will determine how you will shine.
Be knowledgeable.
3. SIN: Sin is also one of the greatest killers of stars. You cannot continue living in sin and expect your star to shine like the righteous.
The Bible confirmed it in the book of Romans 6:1-2 which says: Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid.
This Bible passage simply shows that sin can hinder one’s blessing and stop one’s star from shining.
If you want your star to shine for the world to see in the year 2022, do away with all iniquity and unrighteousness.
And I want you to know that:
▪️No star is the same. So, don’t compare yourself with anybody, you will shine at your appointed time.
▪️A star is created by God, not by man. So because you are a unique child of God, nobody can design your destiny
▪️Whenever a star rises, it cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14)
LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE MEN, THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD WORK AND GLORIFY YOUR FATHER WHICH IS IN HEAVEN. This should be your watchword for year 2022
